...Let me explain a bit. We're all currently stuck in a region known as Johto. You just arrived, so you're currently in New Bark Town, which is the easternmost settlement in the Johto region. On the other hand, I'm currently in Olivine City, which is much farther west. From where I am, it would take over three weeks if I were to walk straight from here to New Bark Town, and that's assuming I don't spend time in each city along the way.
